The Role
This position operates under a dual reporting line to the CEO and Head of Business and Operations. It is a senior leadership role with responsibility for finance, administration, and corporate services. You'll proactively lead a team of 15 and play an active role in executive decision-making, strategic planning, and organisational development. Our group of companies operates nationally with an annual turnover of $45M.
The role is responsible for financial management and reporting, administration and compliance, working closely with the leadership team to drive sound governance and operational performance.
Key responsibilities
- Lead all financial operations, including statutory reporting, audits, payroll, budgeting, and compliance.
- Oversee administration, contract management, and corporate governance.
- Ensure GTO compliance with audits, registrations, labour hire licensing, and apprentice and trainee administration across multiple states.
- Manage internal controls, risk, and reporting systems.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, policies, and procedures.
- Build relationships with auditors, government agencies, RTOs, and employer partners.
- Contribute to strategic planning and operational leadership.
Selection Criteria
Essential
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in a CFO or similar lead finance role.
- CPA (or equivalent), with a degree in Accounting, Business or Commerce.
- Strong commercial acumen with a solid understanding of finance, compliance and administration systems.
- Experienced in managing teams and multi-disciplinary operations.
- Experience in contract and financial negotiations.
- High level of discretion and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
- Exceptional accuracy, organisational skills and time management abilities.
- Willingness to travel interstate as required.
- Willing to obtain and maintain required employment screening checks.
Desirable
- Experience in NFP, GTO or VET sectors
- Multi-state compliance experience
