At S.D.F Electrical, our engineers are integral to both the design and delivery of projects. We ensure electrical systems are not only technically sound but also buildable, efficient, and fully coordinated with other disciplines.


The Role

We are seeking a motivated Electrical Engineer to join our Construction team in SE Queensland. This role will see you working across all stages of projects — from design development and coordination to on-site technical support, commissioning, and handover.

As part of our team, you will collaborate closely with architects, builders, consultants, and other trades to deliver projects that meet client expectations, regulatory standards, and our company's commitment to quality.


Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to electrical system design and ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Coordinate with architects, builders, consultants, and other trades to resolve design and construction challenges.
  • Prepare, review, and manage technical submittals, RFIs, and project documentation.
  • Provide input into procurement, equipment selection, and project specifications.
  • Support project teams with commissioning, testing, and quality assurance processes.
  • Contribute to sustainability and Green Star submissions where required.
  • Monitor technical aspects during construction to ensure systems are delivered as designed.

Your Qualities
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems in construction (power, lighting, communications, distribution).
  • Comprehensive understanding of all relevant Australian Standards, legislation, and industry codes, with the ability to apply them to design and construction.
  • Ability to apply engineering fundamentals to practical, buildable solutions.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Confident communicator and effective collaborator with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Detail-focused with a strong commitment to quality and safety.

Criteria
  • Tertiary Qualification in Electrical Engineering (Engineers Australia recognised).
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in electrical engineering, preferably within contracting or project delivery.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; AutoCAD/Revit experience desirable but not essential.
  • Current open driver's licence.
