Support Worker (Community Participation)

We are currently seeking experienced, strong support workers for a Community Participation (CP) role based in the Sunshine(NSW) area. We are specifically looking for candidates with backgrounds in Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD), and/or community participation. This role would suit someone looking to supplement their current income, with the capacity to build hours over time.

The Role:

  • You will be supporting participant/s with community access and engagement who are looking to build confidence when engaging with the community.
  • You will develop resilience, promote social inclusion, encourage skill-building, and confidence.
  • In addition, you will be managing behavioural and emotional needs in community settings to improve life skills.
  • You will be supported by the broader team.

The Successful Applicant

  • The role is Ideal for someone who is calm, physically capable, and reliable.
  • You will be able to demonstrate experience supporting individuals with complex mental health needs.
  • A thorough background in AOD would be highly regarded.
  • You will have strong de-escalation and behaviour support skills to manage situations as they arise.
  • You will also have the ability to work independently and follow detailed support plans and complete necessary documentation along the way.
  • Immediate start available for the right candidate

Minimum Requirements

  • Certificate III or IV in Mental Health, Community Services, or a related field
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Current First Aid & CPR
  • Available vaccination history
