Optic Fibre Splicer Technician

As an Optic Fibre Splicer Technician, you will be a vital part of our field operations crew, delivering high-quality fibre optic installations across diverse project sites. You will work with precision, pride, and a strong safety-first mindset to ensure seamless connectivity for our clients.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Splicing fibre optic cables to exact client specifications.
  • Conducting OTDR and Insertion Loss testing, fault finding, and rectification.
  • Reading and interpreting network plans and technical documentation.
  • Maintaining accurate records including test results, photos, and cable logs.
  • Operating and maintaining tools, vehicles, and equipment safely.
  • Collaborating with team members to meet project timelines.
  • Upholding HSEQ standards in every aspect of your work.

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven experience in fibre optic cable jointing for both carriers and miners.
  • Experienced in end to end fibre testing – OTDR and Insertion Loss.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility to work across multiple sites and environments.
  • A commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Availability to work away on a 2:1 roster.

Qualifications & Tickets

  • Certificate III in Telecommunications Technology or equivalent (preferred).
  • Recognised fibre splicing certifications.
  • ACMA Open Registration with Fibre Endorsement.
  • WA Driver's Licence (mandatory).
  • Construction White Card.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
