ABOUT THE ROLE

We seek qualified and motivated Telecommunications Technicians/Trainers to deliver face-to-face training in the Certificate III in Telecommunications Technology course.

This role requires a comprehensive understanding of telecommunications technology, enabling you to facilitate engaging, simulated, and scenario-based activities and assessments.

The subject areas/units include:

  • Plan and install customer cabling (fibre, structured and coaxial)
  • Install and configure telecommunications equipment
  • Design and implement telecommunications systems and networks
  • Repair and maintain equipment and software
  • Implement workplace health and safety requirements
  • Use testing equipment to diagnose faults in telecommunications systems
  • Work effectively in the telecommunications industry
  • Apply sustainable work practices in telecommunications

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver training and assessment in a face-to-face environment.
  • Participate in developing and continuously improving training content and assessment materials.
  • Ensure compliance with NIT's training and assessment policies and procedures.
  • Actively participate in team and industry consultation meetings.
  • Maintain industry currency.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential:

  • Certificate III in Telecommunication Technology and/or Certificate III in Telecommunications Network Build; OR
  • Endorsements in telecommunications such as:

  • Open and restricted cabler registration

  • Structured cabling
  • Fibre optical cabling
  • Coaxial cabling
  • Cable hauling
  • Either hold or willing to complete TAE Certificate IV Training and Assessment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organisational skills and a commitment to delivering exceptional learning experiences.
  • Eligibility to work in Australia.

Desirable:

  • Relevant vocational experience in delivering telecommunications training.
  • Experience delivering face-to-face training to diverse student cohorts.
  • Established industry and community networks.
