About the Role

We are seeking dedicated, reliable and compassionate Support Workers to join our Supported Independent Living (SIL) team. You will be supporting a participant living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) who requires 24/7 care, including assistance with daily living, mobility, personal care, and community access.

The ideal candidate will have experience (or a strong interest) in supporting people with MS or progressive neurological conditions, and the ability to provide high-quality, person-centred support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care including showering, grooming, continence support, and mobility assistance
  • Support with transfers and use of mobility equipment (hoist, wheelchair, etc.)
  • Assist with medication prompts (according to NDIS guidelines)
  • Household duties: cleaning, laundry, meal prep
  • Support with community engagement when appropriate
  • Monitor health changes and report concerns to the SIL House Lead
  • Provide empathetic, respectful, and consistent support
  • Maintain clear shift notes and communication with the team

About the Participant

The participant is an adult living with Multiple Sclerosis and requires:

  • 24/7 SIL support (awake shifts + passive overnight as required)
  • Assistance with physical mobility
  • A stable, calm, and patient support team
  • Workers who understand fatigue, mobility decline, and MS-related symptoms

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Experience supporting people with disability, chronic illness or MS (required)
  • Certificate III or IV in Disability / Aged Care (required)
  • Current First Aid & CPR
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check and/or Valid police check
  • Working rights in Australia
  • Drivers licence (preferred)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to follow routines

  • Patient, respectful and emotionally mature
  • Able to work independently and in a team environment
  • Willing to learn and adapt to the participant's needs

Shifts Available

  • Day shifts
  • Afternoon shifts
  • Active night shifts
  • Sleepover/passive shifts
  • Weekend availability preferred
