NDIS Support Worker

About the Role

We are seeking highly skilled, reliable, and compassionate support workers to join our Supported Independent Living (SIL) team. This position involves working with participants who have complex needs, requiring staff who are resilient, professional, and committed to delivering high-quality care.

The role will involve self-care support, personal care, daily living assistance, and complex behavioural support in a structured home environment. Staff must be prepared to work across morning, afternoon, and overnight shifts to ensure 24/7 support for our participant.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and self-care support, including showering, dressing, toileting, and hygiene assistance.
• Support participants with daily living tasks, including meal preparation, medication prompts, and household duties.
• Manage complex behaviours using approved behaviour support strategies, ensuring safety and dignity at all times.
• Maintain accurate and timely progress notes, incident reports, and data collection in line with NDIS and organisational requirements.
• Implement strategies from support plans, behaviour plans, and health care plans as directed.
• Foster independence, skill development, and community participation for the participant.
• Communicate effectively with the participant, family, and team members.
• Respond calmly and professionally to challenging behaviours or high-pressure situations.
• Ensure the participant's environment is safe, respectful, and supportive.

Key Requirements

• Minimum 12 months experience in disability, SIL, or complex care environments.
• Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support, Community Services, or equivalent (essential).
• Demonstrated experience with complex behaviours, high needs, and personal care.
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working With Children Check.
• First Aid and CPR Certificate (must be valid).
• Manual Handling and Medication Training (desirable).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to complete accurate documentation.
• Reliability, flexibility, and willingness to work across a 24/7 roster including mornings, afternoons, weekends, and overnight shifts.
• Must hold a current driver's licence and have access to a reliable, insured vehicle.
