The College is seeking an experienced, passionate Science Laboratory Technician to support teaching staff and students within the Science Department and to maintain the Science laboratories at the College, with a focus on providing a safe working environment for all.

Commencing in Term 1, 2026, this is a permanent part-time (0.6 FTE) position. Due to staff leave, there is an additional 0.4 FTE available in Semester

Working closely with Science Teachers, this role will assist in the smooth running of the practical components of classes, including:

  • Preparation for classroom practicals
  • Construction and maintenance of equipment
  • Demonstrating proper use of equipment
  • Disposal of hazardous and biological materials
  • Maintain a safe and tidy work environment.
  • Providing technical support to teachers where appropriate.
  • University students are welcomed to apply for this flexible part-time opportunity.

The successful applicant will have:

  • A Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques of a relevant qualification
  • Familiarity with the demands of providing lessons support for Chemistry, Physics, Human Biology and Biology at a senior school level.
  • Experience working in an education environment.
  • A current Working with Children card (WWC) or willingness to obtain one
  • A current National Police Certificate
