The College is seeking to appoint a Creative Arts & Design Technician (Textiles) to commence in Term 2, 2025. This is a permanent opportunity for a part-time (0.8 FTE) Technician to join the team to assist with the management of an efficient and functional Creative Arts and Design Department.
We are seeking applicants with the ability to maintain textile equipment, experience in stock control, excellent organisation and time management skills. Applicants will assist teachers as needed in preparing classrooms and equipment.
University students are welcome to apply.
The successful applicant will have:
- Year 12 completion or equivalent
- Certificate III or IV in Clothing Industry Studies or equivalent experience
- Experience in stock control
- Experience in the evaluation of quality and value of goods
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Familiarity of textiles equipment
- Sound textile handling and preparation experience
- Experience in maintaining clean good preparation areas
- Experience in pattern making, yarn work and screen printing will be highly regarded.
- Experience with other materials design (metals, wood) will be highly regarded.
- A current First Aid certificate, CPR certificate, National Police Clearance and Working with Children card (or willingness to obtain)
