In alignment with our school motto, “Courage Starts Here,” we are introducing a new position - Head of Outdoor Experiences (PP-12). This represents a bold step forward in nurturing resilience, curiosity, and leadership across the College. This role will be instrumental in designing and coordinating a cohesive, developmentally appropriate outdoor experiences program that spans from PP to Year 12, embedding experiential learning into the heart of our curriculum.

**Your Role in the Adventure**:
EMBRACE - Champion a culture of safety, support and inclusivity across all outdoor programs.
CREATE - Enhance immersive outdoor learning experiences that promote growth and resilience.
SOAR - Lead Outdoor experiences that build confidence, teamwork and leadership skills.
BLAZE - Inspire students from Pre-Primary to Year 12 to connect with nature and challenge themselves.
IMPACT - Model excellence in risk management, facilitation, and outdoor leadership.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced educator to lead and strategically develop our Outdoor Experiences program in a part-time capacity (0.9 FTE, negotiable and with the ability to grow in 2027), starting in Term 1, 2026.

This exciting role includes a 0.2 FTE component dedicated to IGSSA interschool sport coordination, offering a dynamic blend of outdoor education and sporting leadership.

We are a Uniting Church Day and boarding school for girls, Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12 located in Como, close to the river and Perth CBD.

**The successful applicants will have**:

- Diploma of Teaching or a Bachelor of Education or a degree qualification supported by a Graduate Diploma of Education.
- Current TRBWA Membership
- National Police Clearance
- Current Working with Children card (WWC)
- Current First Aid
- Current Surf Bronze Medallion or START
- Current Resuscitation
- Appropriate Driver’s License to drive school buses
- Specific activity-related instructor qualifications (e.g. roping, paddling, Bush Walking)

**The following essential criteria must be addressed in your cover letter**:

- Strategic curriculum development ability to align Outdoor experiences across the College
- Experience with risk management and safety, planning and response to potential emergency situations.
- Leading a variety of outdoor education and leadership experiences across large groups (e.g. school years), fostering progressive educational values and principles.
- Experience instructing/coordinating specific Outdoor Education experiences - depending on area of specialisation/personal competence.
- Demonstrated experience with Outdoor Education activity equipment selection and use.
- Commitment to providing students with a safe, supportive and respectful learning environment.
