Join Sunshine Sugar as a Mechanical Fitter at our Broadwater site, 20 minutes from Ballina in the beautiful Northern Rivers of NSW.

What we offer:

  • 25% leave loading
    on 4 weeks
  • Unique work environment
    with two distinct seasons:
    crushing period (June - December), the mill operates 24/7, fast paced environment. Maintenance season (January - June), structured maintenance program with a 9-day fortnight.
  • Hours
  • Monday to Friday: 7am - 3:30pm (crushing season), 7am - 4pm (Maintenance season)
  • Overtime
    may be required during crushing season

We are looking for:

  • Trade qualifications (Certificate III and Certificate of Proficiency)
  • Experience in heavy industrial environments or shutdown experience
  • Hands on expertise working on a wide range of equipment, pumps, valves, pipelines, motors, gearboxes, boilers and turbines
  • Ability to fabricate small & large components
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Proven experience in machine maintenance and fault finding
  • Organisational skills and ability to prioritise jobs
  • Safety focused mindset and positive attitude
  • Team player with a willingness to mentor and guide apprentices
