LO-GO Appointments is currently seeking an experienced Environmental Health Officer (EHO) to commence ASAP for a period of approx. 9 weeks - to be based in Central Queensland.

Travel expenses will be compensated at the beginning and end of the assignment and self-contained accommodation will be supplied for the duration.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide advice, education and enforcement to ensure compliance with public health and environmental legislation
  • Undertake inspections, audits and investigations across licensed and registered premises
  • Support environmental protection, public health, health promotion and sustainable development initiatives
  • Prepare reports, correspondence and other documentation on environmental health matters for Council

To be successful, you must have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Applied Science (Environmental Health) or other EHA-accredited course from a recognised tertiary institution
  • Sound technical knowledge of public health, environment protection, health promotion, social issues and sustainable development, with experience in Queensland Local Government desirable
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, Australian Standards, Local Laws and Policies in environmental health
  • Minimum C Class provisional licence
