An exciting new opportunity has emerged with the role of Executive Director Signalling Operations within Sydney Trains Rail Operations branch. Reporting to the Head of Rail Operations, this is a high-profile strategic leadership role accountable for the safe, efficient and reliable operations of signalling systems across the network. This is a key executive role responsible for leading all aspects of signalling operations including leading signalling teams through the transformation of signalling technology to support a modern, efficient and future ready railway network.

In this role you'll

Provide strategic and operational leadership for day of operations signalling functions, ensuring train movements are managed effectively to maintain safety, reliability and efficiency across the Sydney Trains and NSW Trains network, minimising disruptions to customers and maximising operational efficiency.

You will also play a pivotal role in modernising signalling operations through digital transformation, integrating advanced and emerging technologies and embedding an operational excellence culture, and in turn, enhancing safety, performance and customer outcomes across the rail network.

About You

You bring extensive knowledge and demonstrated experience in signalling operations along with safe working rules and procedures. You have detailed knowledge and understanding of rail operations and operational risk. You have strong stakeholder management skills with experience in leading a function within a high reliability / high risk working environment within a large and complex industrial and/or public sector organisation. Adaptable in nature, you lead by example with the ability to motivate team members towards achieving business objectives.

You bring a minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior leadership role within a rail operations environment, and have demonstrated experience leading the delivery of transformational change and capability uplift.

As a good problem solver, you will also have worked in a matrix-style reporting environment where it is essential to have a good understanding of customer orientation and the operational demands that come with service delivery.
