*About the Role*
As a Compliance Officer, you'll work closely with the Compliance Manager, Stream Leads and General Counsel to assist in monitoring IMB's compliance obligations, maintaining and monitoring frameworks, and supporting staff across the organisation in understanding their responsibilities.
*Key Responsibilities*
- Provide advice and support to IMB branches and departments on compliance and regulatory matters under the supervision of the Compliance Manager
- Assist with developing and maintaining IMB's compliance frameworks
- Help prepare and submit IMB's standing compliance lodgements and reports
- Support reviews and audits, including documenting outcomes and follow-up actions
- Contribute to compliance awareness initiatives and training for staff
- Assist with investigating, assessing, reporting and remediating operational risk incidents where required
- Reviewing product and marketing materials to ensure compliance, where required.
*About You*
You're detail-oriented, curious, and eager to develop a career in compliance within retail banking. You enjoy problem-solving, communicating complex information clearly, and working collaboratively across departments.
- Completed or are currently undertaking a degree in a relevant area such as Law, Commerce or Business
- Strong analytical, research and communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- A proactive attitude and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Some experience/knowledge of retail banking products and services advantageous
- An understanding of key regulatory frameworks (eg AFSL, AML/CTF, Privacy, NCCP) highly regarded but not essential
- A sound commercial outlook and ability to interpret legislation and industry codes desirable.
