The Opportunity

Join Aveo's Finance team as an
Assistant Accountant
and help shape the financial success of Australia's leading retirement living provider. In this role, you'll support the Established Business Finance team during the resident settlement process by completing a large volume of finance checks, reporting and reconciliations. This is a great opportunity for a finance professional who is interested in the property industry within a supportive and high-performing team.

Your Impact

• Perform a large volume of key finance checks during the property settlement process.
• Liaise with Sales Administration, Finance, and Operations teams to ensure timely processing and reporting.
• Assist with the preparation of month-end financial reports, accruals, and standing journals.
• Support business units with coding of Accounts Payable invoices and other payment requests.
• Complete balance sheet account reconciliations and cash flow forecasting support.
• Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and month-end, quarterly and year-end tasks.
• Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and documentation.

What you'll bring

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce or Finance, with a strong desire to commence or progress to CA/CPA qualification
• 2+ years of experience in a finance or accounting role (e.g. as an Assistant Accountant or similar)
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and competence with large accounting or CRM applications (e.g TechOne, Dynamics365 or similar)
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight reporting deadlines
• Strong communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
• A proactive, self-motivated approach with a willingness to learn and contribute
• Ability to deliver high-quality financial insights and manage a high volume of financial data.
• Two COVID-19 Vaccinations (required)
