The Broken Hill Hotel is currently seeking a passionate, reliable, and experienced Qualified Chef to join our dynamic team on a full-time basis.

About the Role: We're looking for someone who thrives in a busy kitchen, takes pride in their work, and is committed to delivering high-quality meals consistently. The successful applicant will have a minimum of 3 years' experience working as a chef in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan menus and estimate food and labour costs

  • Order and manage food supplies

  • Monitor food quality throughout preparation and presentation

  • Liaise with management, dietitians, kitchen, and front-of-house staff on food preparation

  • Demonstrate cooking techniques and procedures

  • Prepare and cook a wide range of dishes

  • Ensure strict compliance with hygiene and food safety regulations

  • Maintain a high standard under pressure and during busy service periods

  • Work full-time hours across a rotating roster

Requirements:

  • Trade qualification as a Chef

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience

  • Excellent references

  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
