The Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) Systems Developer is a key member of the ISR team, responsible for building, optimising, and maintaining the technical platforms that enable ISR operations. This role focuses on developing and deploying applications, cloud services, and data pipelines that integrate video, telemetry, geospatial, and operational datasets into real-time situational awareness platforms.
We operate a diverse range of applications that support aircraft and ground operations across video, imagery and data. It combines proprietary and commercial applications in a secure environment. The ISR Systems Developer will collaborate closely with ISR and the greater Microflite team to ensure technology solutions are robust, efficient, and aligned with Microflite's operational requirements. A highly dynamic and fast-moving environment, it is vital to be able to work collaboratively under pressure and maintain focus on tasks to ensure they are completed to the upmost standard.

What You'll Do:
- Develop and maintain ISR software applications, APIs, and cloud services under management guidance.
- Build and optimise complex cloud workflows using custom GIS applications, AWS Lambda, Step Functions, EC2, and API Gateway.
- Ensure efficient code management, version control, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployments.
- Develop mobile applications to support Microflite employees and customers.
- Implement and optimise Python based data processing applications and services for imagery, telemetry, and video workflows.
- Collaborate with the ISR and Operations teams to ensure ISR technology integrates seamlessly with aviation operations.
- Document technical processes, maintain repositories, and provide training/support to ISR personnel.
- Contribute to innovation and continuous improvement in ISR data systems, applications, and operational platforms.
The ISR Systems Developer will operate with delegated authority to develop and implement technical solutions. They will be expected to exercise sound judgment, align development with Microflite's operational goals, and recommend improvements to ISR technology platforms.
What You'll Bring:
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and stay focused within a fast-paced operational environment.
- Proven experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), including Lambda, EC2, Step Functions, and API services.
- Demonstrated experience optimising code management and deployment workflows (Git, CI/CD).
- Advanced Python skills for automation, data processing, and integration tasks.
- Strong JavaScript development experience, ideally with Angular 18+ experience.
- Experience in mobile application development across iOS and Android frameworks would be highly regarded.
- Familiarity with web-based mapping applications such as Leaflet or Cesium is desirable.
- Exposure to video and telemetry data integration, real-time streaming, or encoding workflows would be an advantage.
- An understanding of operations in communications constrained environments, including mobile and satellite networks, would be beneficial.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to innovate and improve ISR technology solutions.
- Australian citizenship with the ability to obtain national security clearances.
