West Coast Shopfitting has an opportunity for a Project Manager role with previous experience in Shopfitting. The role is ideally suited to someone who wants to still actively be involved in the day to day running of a shop fit out but with the main focus being on managing all aspects of the project from start to finish.

The role will blend practical trade skills with leadership and administrative duties, making the candidate a crucial figure in the successful execution of shopfitting projects.

The Role is being offered with start date from mid to late January 2026, so applications are now open to apply.

Core Responsibilities

  • Project Planning: Defining project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders. This involves developing detailed project plans, timelines, and schedules.
  • Budget and Resource Management: Tracking expenses, and allocating resources (people, equipment, materials) efficiently to avoid overruns.
  • Team Leadership and Coordination: Assembling and leading a project team, delegating tasks, providing motivation and support, and ensuring effective collaboration among members.
  • Risk Management: Identifying potential risks and obstacles early in the process, analyzing their potential impact, and developing mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Tracking project progress against milestones and deadlines, performing quality control, and preparing regular status reports for senior management and clients.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serving as the primary point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders, managing expectations, and ensuring all parties are informed of changes or issues.
  • Problem-Solving: Addressing issues and conflicts that arise during the project lifecycle and implementing necessary changes to keep the project on track.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all work is carried out to the required quality standards in accordance with design plans, blueprints, and client specifications.
  • Health & Safety: Conduct safety and hazard assessments, ensure all employees comply with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements, and maintain a safe and organised work environment.

Key Skills and Requirements

  • Experience: Extensive experience in a project manager role, with prior experience in shopfitting being highly desirable.
  • Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in in the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and design plans.
  • Leadership & Communication: Strong leadership and motivational skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team and liaise with various stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and control issues, troubleshoot problems on-site, and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Certifications: A "White Card" and a current driver's licence.
