General Practitioner / Authorised Prescriber (Remote, Contracted)

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced General Practitioner who is also an Authorised Prescriber of medicinal cannabis to join our dynamic and collaborative team. This is a remote position offering flexibility and the opportunity to work within a forward-thinking, purpose-driven healthcare model.

Our clinic is a multidisciplinary, veteran-focused practice that offers a range of medical and allied health services. We are not a cannabis-only clinic, our approach is holistic, evidence-based, and patient-centred, with a strong emphasis on team collaboration and veteran care. You will be part of a supportive environment where quality care and clinical integrity are prioritised.

The Role

This position combines two key areas of practice:

  • Medicinal Cannabis Consultations: You will conduct both initial appointments and follow-up consultations for eligible patients. All patients are pre-screened and onboarded by a member of our experienced clinical team with a background in medicinal cannabis. You'll have full administrative support for appointment bookings, follow-up coordination, and patient communication. Our team ensures that whenever you are working, you have seamless access to both clinical and admin support, allowing you to focus on patient care.
  • General Pain Management Support: You will provide broader support for patients' care needs as required, including referrals to physiotherapy or other allied health services, assisting with other prescriptions, and other clinical tasks as discussed. This role allows flexibility to work across different aspects of patient care depending on needs and availability.

We are ideally looking for someone who can commit to 2 days per week, depending on availability and interest (and ability to give more days as we grow and expand).

About You
  • AHPRA-registered medical practitioner (FRACGP preferred)
  • Authorised Prescriber of medicinal cannabis (required)
  • Experience completing DVA-related medical reports (or willingness to learn with support)
  • Passion for holistic, multidisciplinary care
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • A strong work ethic and willingness to contribute to a growing, innovative practice
  • Prior experience working with veterans and DVA highly regarded
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
