Job Description

What You'll Be Doing

  • Assess development applications for heritage places
  • Draft and review local planning policies
  • Evaluate Local Planning Scheme amendments
  • Conduct land use planning research
  • Coordinate responses to State planning initiatives
  • Provide advice to public and developers
  • Represent Council in meetings and inquiries

Qualifications

What You'll Bring

We're looking for an Environmental Health Officer to join us on a permanent basis with a passion for community wellbeing. You'll ideally bring:

  • Tertiary qualification in Environmental Health (required)
  • High-level knowledge of Environmental Health principles
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong decision-making and judgement
  • Current 'C' Class Driver's Licence
  • Authorised person under Environmental Protection Act (desirable)
  • Local Government experience (desirable)
  • Well-developed conflict resolution skills (desirable)
