About the role

The primary responsibility of the Export Operations Officer role is to issue and negotiate export shipping documents, arrange and manage export of bulk vessel shipments and to provide general assistance as required to all business units during peak shipping and purchasing periods.

Duties

  • Manage bulk loading of vessels, including liaising with supervision companies, buyers, agents and overseas offices.
  • Issue documentary instructions from CAD contracts or Letters of credit and manage the issuance of export documents derived from these.
  • Liaise with buyers to ensure smooth running of export contracts, including close contact with Viterra's overseas offices.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls regarding storing and filing of all relevant shipping information in hard copy shipping files, electronic storage within internal databases and general work practices.
  • Enter all relevant shipping information into our Agtech data base
  • Issue manual Gafta / Fosfa / GTA, FOBST and CFR CY/CY based Purchase and Sales contracts in line with current Bunge terms and conditions.
  • Assist with ensuring that all sustainability (Health, Safety and Environment) criteria for the various flows of the company's goods are complied with.
  • Verify and process invoices in a timely manner.

About you

  • Three years' experience within a similar role.
  • Agricultural Degree, International Business Degree and/or Documentation/Letter of Credit courses completed are favoured.
  • Workable knowledge of the Microsoft suite of programmes.
