In this role, you will work alongside highly experienced railway electrical specialists, contributing your expertise to strengthen our team's capabilities. The Opportunity

  • Deliver hands-on electrical design for rail projects, including LV, MV/HV, traction power, and earthing and bonding systems.
  • Prepare and check design calculations, drawings, and specifications while ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance with Arup standards.
  • Take responsibility for defined project components, support design and quality management processes, and assist in meeting project deadlines.
  • Represent the electrical team in internal meetings and contribute to organising internal activities or small business initiatives.
  • Support colleagues by reviewing work, collaborating across disciplines, and helping maintain project delivery excellence.

Is this role right for you?

  • Recognised tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering and proven experience in rail or large multidisciplinary engineering projects.
  • Knowledge in one or more areas such as LV/MV/HV distribution, traction power systems, earthing and bonding, substations, protection systems, or relevant Australian Standards.
  • Strong communication and report-writing skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical environments.
  • Motivation, resilience, and the ability to perform under pressure while supporting team cohesion and meeting project deadlines.
  • Beneficial experience with design modelling software, awareness of industry legislation and safety requirements, and professional membership or chartership aspirations.
