QR_ is currently expanding its activity in Australia and we are looking for a Electrical Engineer to join our Sydney team.
- Provide high level of electrical engineering technical competence based on relevant experience and knowledge.
- Complete electrical systems design for naval ship systems, applying robust systems engineering process.
- Undertake technical investigations, root cause analysis and solution identification.
- Integrate platform electrical systems on naval vessels.
- Deliver technical reports and technical documentation in accordance with customer standards.
- Work effectively within the broader Engineering Team to engage with different engineering disciplines in the development of new naval ship system designs.
- Plan and coordinate assigned engineering projects from concept through to delivery, including the development of project plans, schedule and engagement of internal and external stakeholders.
- Follow State WHSE Acts, Regulations and accountability with leadership for the safety and wellbeing of staff and their commitment to protect the environment.
- Exercise due diligence by taking reasonable steps to acquire and keep up‐to‐date knowledge of work health and safety & Environmental matters and ensuring information regarding incidents, hazards and risks is received as soon as practicable and action is implemented in a timely way.
Must have:
- Minimum 4 years' experience as a professional engineer
- Proven skills and experience in a electrical engineering function.
- Experience in a technical and industrial Defence environment.
- Experience with electrical and control systems on a naval ship platform, including medium voltage power design and analysis up to 440VAC.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning, listening and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a high-pressure environment.
- Ability to manage, prioritise and complete multiple tasks concurrently.
- Ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships at all levels of the business and Clients. Qualifications and Education Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree ‐ Engineering (Electrical)
