About the roleAn EPC contractor in the energy infrastructure sector is seeking a junior electrical design engineer to support concept design, reviews, and delivery across HV and renewables projects. You'll work alongside senior engineers, external designers, and construction teams to move packages from feasibility through to site delivery.

What you'll do

• Assist with concept design, drafting, and electrical studies

• Prepare and review design deliverables and RFIs across disciplines

• Support safety in design reviews (HAZID, HAZCON, HAZOP)

• Coordinate external designers/consultants and issue design packages to project/construction teams

• Produce technical reports, drawings, and specifications; attend client and contractor meetings

• Carry out site inspections to check compliance and quality during construction

• Track codes, standards, and best practice; contribute to cost-efficient solutions

What you'll bring

• Tertiary qualification in electrical engineering

• Proficiency in primary layouts and electrical schematics

• Strong AutoCAD and/or MicroStation skills; exposure to electrical simulation tools a plus

• Understanding of HV, utility, or renewables projects; contractor-side experience valued

• Solid grasp of electrical fundamentals, construction materials, and applications

• Clear communicator, collaborative, proactive learner

• Willing to travel for site visits as required; Sydney based; full work rights

Nice to have

• Experience interfacing with utilities on infrastructure projects

• Familiarity with multidisciplinary coordination and tender/feasibility inputs
