The Company:

Johns Lyng Group has been established since 1953 and has a reputation for excellence. Underpinning the company's success is our in-house Software team in which an opportunity now exists for a motivated and enthusiastic Software Developer. Based in our head office in Doncaster, the key focus of this role is to deliver software systems developments across a broad range of business units.

The Role:

Working in a dynamic team of experienced developers in Doncaster this role will best suit a self-motivated, adaptable and flexible individual who is willing to challenge, be challenged and continually learn. Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail, along with problem solving, analytical and organisational skills are essential.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and support business software suites for multiple business units across the full software development lifecycle.
  • Work closely with senior developers providing input into system design and development implementation.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Commercial experience in .NET web development technologies and Microsoft application development frameworks
  • Understanding and a demonstrated desire to learn different modern software architectures.
  • Commercial experience with JavaScript, jQuery and AngularJS.
  • Experience with CSS3, specifically responsive design and mobile device websites.
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases, specifically SQL Server. Strong SQL syntax and database design skills.
  • Understanding of software configuration management processes and tools (such as TFS).
  • Familiarity with Object Relational Mapping, LINQ and associated patterns.
