About the roleWhat you'll be doingThe successful candidate will be responsible for the following;
  • Assist the Nurse Unit Managers in leadership of the nursing team by providing direction and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care
  • Be accountable for daily operational management in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Manager
  • Act as a clinical and educational resource within AOPS using your knowledge, skills and experience to inform and guide evidence-based workplace practices
  • Resource management of nursing staff to ensure service delivery is maintained, including rostering, sick leave management, and allocation of workloads
  • Act as an initial escalation point for clinical and non-clinical issues including, but not limited to, complaints, challenging patients, conflict resolution, deteriorating patients and IT system faults
About youTo be considered for this role you will have;
  • Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in AOPS or an acute hospital setting
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Capable conflict management skills and demonstrated initiative to improve service delivery
  • Demonstrated clinical leadership skills, organisational skills and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated experience working with a multidisciplinary team
  • Previous experience working in a Team Leader position will be highly regarded
  • Demonstrated role modelling and promotion of the Mater Values
