About the Opportunity:

We have recently secured a number of exciting new projects and are expanding our team and seeking Management Accountant to analyse financial data, prepare detailed reports and provide valuable insights into the business.  The role supports financial planning, compliance and operational efficiency, helping drive profitability and ensuring sound financial practices across the CDPG.

Who are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will have the following competencies:

• Job costing & Project Accounting
• Knowledge of IFRS 15 revenue recognition (percentage of completion)
• Understanding of the Progress Claims and retention process in the building and construction business
• Knowledge of Sage, Workbench & Microsoft Dynamic 365
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Advanced Excel & Business Intelligence skills
• Excellent organisation skills, planning and time management
• The ability to work independently, unsupervised and with other team members

About the role:

• Complete month end process including the completion of the balance sheet reconciliations
• Prepare monthly reporting pack with detailed variance analysis & commentaries
• Oversee and manage cashflow forecasting
• Collaborate with senior leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and manage reporting for BAS, PAYG, Payroll Tax, and GST.
• Work closely with project managers and state managers to complete project reviews on construction projects and provide an analysis of the monthly results at a job level
• Work with Financial Controller to update labour recovery rate in-line with EBAs
• Maintenance of the fixed asset register (depreciation, additions & disposal)
• Support the rollout of policies and procedures to help strengthen internal controls
• Work with external tax agent to ensure FBT return is lodged in a timely manner
• Support team members with leave coverage
• Assist with year-end closure, audit and statutory reporting requirements
• Drive process optimization and enhance efficiency by challenging internal processes
• Ad-hoc tasks as required by the senior management team
