Shift Supervisor / Checkout Team Member

Part-time/Full-time (Regular afternoon & evening shifts, including weekends)

We're looking for reliable, energetic and enthusiastic Team Members to join our checkout team — with opportunities for Shift Supervisor responsibilities for the right candidate.

About the Role

As a Checkout Team Member, you'll serve customers, process transactions, and help maintain a clean, organised checkout area.

If you are experienced and confident leading others, you may also take on Shift Supervisor duties — supporting the team and ensuring smooth daily operations.

Shifts: Afternoon and evening shifts (typically finishing around 9pm), with regular weekend work required.

Applicants must be 18+ years of age due to evening shifts and ability to sell cigarettes requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate POS systems (Smart Retail) and handle customer transactions accurately
  • Manage floats, change, and end-of-day balancing
  • Assist with merchandising, ticketing, and shelf filling as needed
  • Maintain a clean and organised checkout area
  • Supervise checkout staff and daily front-end operations (for Supervisor role)
  • Handle customer queries and complaints professionally
  • Ensure compliance with store policies and health & safety standards
  • Support rostering and ensure appropriate staffing during busy periods

  • Sound understanding of supermarket best practices (advantageous)
  • Minimum 6-12 months retail or supermarket experience preferred but not essential
