We're looking for a dedicated and experienced Grocery Department Manager to join our team full-time. This is a hands-on role that's key to ensuring the smooth daily operations of the grocery department while helping drive a great culture across the store.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the grocery department, including stock ordering, inventory control, and product rotation
  • Maintain high standards of product presentation, cleanliness, and merchandising
  • Work with local suppliers to introduce exciting and unique product lines
  • Lead, coach, and schedule team members; promote consistent, high-level customer service
  • Monitor sales data; implement strategies to increase turnover and margins
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, health and safety, and store policies
  • Assist with budgeting, cost control, and minimising shrinkage

What We're Looking For

  • 1-2 years' experience in retail department management (supermarket or similar)
  • Proven experience in people leadership, training, and performance management
  • Strong inventory management skills, including stock ordering and monitoring price changes
  • Ability to manage and achieve financial targets
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organisational skills
  • Analytical and comfortable working with numbers and sales reports
  • Hands-on, adaptable, and proactive in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Sound understanding of food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety regulations
  • Strong customer service focus and merchandising ability
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and retail systems (e.g. Smart Retail)
  • Must be able to work weekends as part of your roster.
  • Must have valid Australian work rights
