Senior Project Engineer - Innovation & Studies

Perth | Monday to Friday | $85-$100 p/h + Super

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer - Innovation & Studies to join the Engineering and Studies team of a Tier 1 Mining Company on an ongoing Perth-based assignment. This role offers the opportunity to lead cutting-edge feasibility and concept studies driving our Tier 1 Mining Client's Real Zero decarbonisation strategy and support the transition toward green energy and sustainable operations.

As Senior Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of feasibility and concept studies across innovation and decarbonisation programs. Operating client-side, you'll apply engineering leadership, structured planning, and strong governance to ensure studies are executed to scope, on time, and within budget. You'll work closely with internal and external stakeholders to integrate emerging technologies, evaluate innovative solutions, and deliver decision-ready outcomes that inform our Tier 1 Mining Client's future investments.

• Lead planning, coordination, and delivery of feasibility and concept studies supporting decarbonisation objectives.
• Apply gated governance frameworks, ensuring deliverables meet quality and assurance standards.
• Evaluate emerging technologies for technical and commercial feasibility, supporting pilots and implementation.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to scope, review, and integrate study outcomes into business planning.
• Provide insights into capital efficiency, operational optimisation, and emissions reduction opportunities.
• Identify and manage study risks, dependencies, and mitigation strategies.
• Drive modelling and analysis of study costs, profitability, and performance metrics.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Systems, or equivalent).
• Proven experience delivering feasibility and concept studies in mining, energy, or infrastructure sectors.
• Strong understanding of decarbonisation technologies, electrification pathways, and innovation studies.
• Skilled in structured project engineering, consultant and vendor management, and early contractor involvement.
• Proficient in developing business cases (IRR, NPV, TCO) to support investment decisions.
• Familiar with Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs) and associated risks.
• Exposure to integrating digital and AI tools for improved study evaluation and decision-making.
