Ngurratjuta/Pmara Ntjarra Aboriginal Corporation, Alice Springs Far West Region provides jobs, participation and Community-Development services in Haasts Bluff, Papunya, Mt Liebig, Kintore, and Nyirripi.

The original purpose of the organisation is to provide financially independent Aboriginal Communities with Inter-Community Corporations and utilise royalty funds to build an active investment base to protect accumulated royalty funds. It provides a growing income base for the Member Communities and stimulated job opportunities and venture activities for members, while actively supporting Community development activities and infrastructure improvements in member Communities.

POSITION OVERVIEW – CDP MANAGER

Ngurratjuta Community Development Programme (CDP), Alice Springs Far West Region provides jobs, participation and Community-Development services in Haasts Bluff, Papunya, Mt Liebig and Kintore. The programme supports people to build their skills to get a job or to participate in activities that contribute to the strength and sustainability of communities.

Ngurratjuta is seeking a new team member for the following full time Community Development Programme position to manage the team that works in of the remote communities we serve.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

CDP is the part of our business that satisfies our core mission: to enhance the skills and the opportunities available to people on the communities in which we serve.

The CDP Manager oversees the operations, administration and program/activity delivery, whilst ensuring program effectiveness for CDP job seekers and participants. The role provides leadership and direction to all CDP Staff in order to ensure the effective delivery of a wide range of CDP programs.

The CDP Manager is responsible for all organizational compliance with Departmental guidelines and regulations and is responsible for the organisation meeting all KPIs under the CDP Funding Agreement. The CDP Manager will be required to develop and maintain constructive relationships with Departmental staff and to represent the interests of Ngurratjuta and its CDP region, including all communities within the Far West Alice region.

REPORTS TO: General Manager- Service Delivery

LOCATION: Alice Springs and will be required to travel to remote communities.

WORK HOURS: 37.5 hours per week

RESPONSIBILITIES:


•Ensure that the operation of the CDP program and its activities meet guidelines and meets the expectations of communities in the region as reflected by the original Community Action Plans and continual community engagement.


•Ensure all CDP administration is completed in accordance with the CDP Funding agreement, including Documentary Evidence guidelines.


•Ensuring all CDP staff are appropriately trained and supported in their roles.


•Ensure all Activity Payment Claims, Participants Timesheets and Outcome Claims are processed


•Ensure compliance with funding Department terms and conditions and current policies and procedures.


•Produce management reports for the General Manager- Service Delivery.


•Communicate effectively with community members, local agencies and government representatives.


•Oversee the efficient use of CDP and Corporation assets and materials.

REQUIRED QULIFICATIONS AND SKILLS


• Knowledge of CDP funding agreements and software.


• Experience in managing budgets and resources, including monitoring and analysis.


• Strong leadership skills, including the ability to guide, mentor, and support staff development pathways


• Experience in and a commitment to respecting and working within Aboriginal governance structures, culture, and decision-making processes, ensuring these are integral to program delivery.


• High-level communication and relationship management skills to support implementation of new initiatives, building and maintaining effective relationships with clients, agencies, and stakeholders.


• Ability to work under pressure, and in an ever-changing environment.


• Experience in managing a team with diverse backgrounds.
