Primary Objective
The Regional Manager, Youth and Communities is responsible for coordinating and supporting the sustainable delivery of accessible youth sport, recreation and community safety services in remote communities funded for patrols in the Central Desert Regional Council area in accordance with Council's strategic and regional plans, policies, procedures, relevant legislation and funding requirements.
About Us
Central Desert Regional Council is a local government authority covering an area of over 282,000 square kilometers. The Council provides a range of services in 12 communities to the north of Alice Springs, including Lajamanu, Ti Tree, Wilora, Nturiya, Pmara Jutunta, Willowra, Laramba, Nyirripi, Yuelamu, Atitjere, Engawala, and Yuendumu, as well as several homelands and outstations. The Central Desert area is considered remote and disadvantaged, with over 80% of the population being Aboriginal.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Lead the development, delivery, quality assurance and evaluation of culturally responsive the Community Development Program (CDP) and projects.
Supervise, coach and mentor the team through regular supervision, performance development and the identification of training and growth opportunities.
Coordinate the provision of administrative, financial, compliance and logistics support to CDP employees and participants across the Central Desert Region.
Deliver helpful, practical, and considerate service to internal and external stakeholders.
Monitor and report on quality service delivery and contribute to CDP projects and initiatives.
Manage and report compliance with funding agreements, legislation and Council policy.
Be engaged in an effective and proactive health, safety and wellbeing culture.
Any other reasonable duties delegated by the Regional Manager which are within level.
