What the Heck is Tech

media and storytelling platform
exploring the people and ideas shaping Australia's tech scene.

We've featured leaders from
Microsoft, Canva, ANZ, and REA Group
, sharing open conversations about how technology is changing business, creativity, and everyday life.

Alongside our interviews, we've hosted
live events
that bring together students, founders, and industry leaders - all with one goal: making tech more human, relatable, and inspiring.

We've built up a huge library of video and event content that hasn't yet been shared, and we're ready for someone creative to help bring it to life across social media.

The Role

We're looking for a
Social Media & Content Intern
who enjoys storytelling and has an eye for what works online.

You'll work closely with our team to turn existing interviews, event clips, and behind-the-scenes moments into short-form content that builds awareness and community.

This is a hands-on, creative role where you'll have space to experiment, test ideas, and help shape how
What the Heck is Tech
shows up online.

What You'll Do

  • Edit and repurpose short-form videos from interviews and events.
  • Write captions and create ideas that fit naturally on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.
  • Plan and manage a simple content calendar.
  • Explore new trends and storytelling formats.
  • Help shape the visual identity and tone of the brand online.

You'll Fit Right In If You

  • Enjoy storytelling, editing, and creative content.
  • Use tools like
    CapCut, Canva, or Premiere Pro
    (or are keen to learn).
  • Keep an eye on social trends and understand what makes content engaging.
  • Are proactive, curious, and reliable.
  • Want to build your portfolio working with a media brand connected to
    Australia's top tech companies.
