Position Overview:

We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Import Operations Manager to lead our bonded depot operations at our Chipping Norton site. This role requires a hands-on leader who can ensure compliance with all ABF and AQIS regulations, streamline daily operations, and effectively connect office and warehouse functions.

You will oversee all aspects of the S77G licensed depot, manage a diverse team of staff, and ensure all warehouse functions meet key performance indicators and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the operations of a licensed S77G bonded depot in full compliance with ABF and AQIS regulations.

  • Oversee all daily warehouse functions, ensuring they align with KPIs and operational targets.

  • Act as the main contact for ABF, Quarantine, and other regulatory inspections or queries.

  • Lead and coordinate warehouse staff, including casuals and contractors: assigning tasks, creating rosters, and ensuring compliance.

  • Optimise depot layout and workflows to maximise efficiency and space utilisation.

  • Manage the handling, storage, and transportation of inbound and outbound cargo/freight.

  • Ensure all cargo is accurately scanned, labelled, and tracked through the warehouse management system.

  • Supervise unloading of sea freight containers and incoming carriers.

  • Keep up to date with industry changes relating to customs, ABF, and AQIS regulations.

  • Liaise closely with internal departments and senior management to align depot and office processes.

  • Perform other ad-hoc tasks and responsibilities as required.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in similar operational role within the logistics or freight forwarding industry.

  • Minimum 2-3 years' experience as a depot manager.

  • Hands-on experience managing an S77G bonded depot (preferred).

  • Strong knowledge of depot operations, including compliance with ABF and AQIS regulations.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to manage and motivate teams.

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of depot operations.

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field (preferred).
