About the Role

We're on the hunt for a sharp, hands-on
E-commerce & Digital Merchandising Coordinator
to manage and elevate the online presence of Independence Australia's consumer channel. This hybrid role combines ecommerce operations with creative ecommerce merchandising and campaign coordination.

From building product pages to executing email campaigns, you'll be hands-on across
Shopify, Dotdigital, Magento and content management
. If you're digitally savvy, detail-oriented and have an eye for design and storytelling, this role will give you the variety and ownership you're looking for.

Key Responsibilities

  • E-commerce Operations
  • Manage and update products, collections, and landing pages across Shopify & Magento.
  • Create and manage custom content (meta objects, dynamic content, landing pages).
  • Troubleshoot site issues and flag opportunities to improve UX and performance.
  • Coordinate new product uploads, descriptions, pricing, and imagery.
  • Digital Merchandising & Campaigns
  • Optimise merchandising of the site to align with customer demand and improve product sales.
  • Plan and organise campaigns end-to-end, including launches, promotions, and seasonal activations.
  • Design, test, and schedule EDMs and SMS campaigns in Dotdigital.
  • Work closely with marketing, product, and design teams to deliver cohesive messaging.
  • Support
  • Support content production for banners, product launches, and marketing activations.
  • Apply basic HTML/CSS for minor fixes and customisation.
  • Performance & Insights
  • Monitor site performance, stock levels, and product availability.
  • Analyse ecommerce and campaign performance; provide insights and recommendations.
  • Assist in reporting on sales, traffic, and promotional performance.

Must-Haves

  • 1–3 years in an
    eCommerce role
    (health, fashion, tech, or lifestyle categories preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with
    Shopify
    (store management, landing pages, merchandising).
  • Experience with
    email marketing platforms
    (Dotdigital preferred, Klaviyo or similar also valuable).
  • Working knowledge of
    Magento or similar large scale eCommerce trading platforms
    for catalogue/product data management.
  • Intermediate
    Photoshop/Canva
    skills for image editing and creative support.
  • Basic HTML/CSS knowledge for minor web edits.
  • Strong multitasking and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience managing large product catalogues or multiple sites.
  • Fast paced retail or start – up environment experience a plus
  • ERP experience and Excel proficiency (bulk uploads, product data editing).
  • Familiarity with AI tools for content generation.
  • Exposure to SEO, paid ads, or analytics reporting.
