What is the role
Full-time role-based at our Albion, Brisbane office with regular client on-site visits. The position requires 38 hours per week, with occasional after-hours work and on-call duties required.
As a Senior Engineer, you will provide technical support to clients including remedial maintenance support on infrastructure, LAN and WAN networks and implementation of new projects, while acting as an escalation point in areas of expertise.
The following include but may not be limited to the responsibilities of the Senior Engineer:
- Provide remote and onsite IT support across client environments.
- Diagnose, repair, configure, and upgrade hardware and IT systems.
- Troubleshoot hardware and network issues, and implement effective solutions.
- Collaborate with clients to understand technical requirements and recommend suitable technologies.
- Create and maintain high-level and low-level design documentation.
- Monitor system logs and manage incident tasks as needed.
- Liaise with vendors for technical support and issue resolution.
- Ensure systems meet configuration and compliance standards.
- Act as an escalation point and mentor for junior team members.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in key technology areas.
- Conduct technical analysis and testing, offering expert recommendations.
- Prepare project documentation including scope, specifications, and implementation plans.
- Support infrastructure design and solution architecture.
- Provide technical input for quotes, proposals, and tenders.
- Maintain and improve technical procedures and documentation.
- Continuously expand technical knowledge through training and self-study.
- Accurately log daily activities using internal systems.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Who we are looking for
Successful candidate needs to be curious and self-driven, along with deep technical expertise and a strong engineering track record as well as:
· –8 years of experience in technical IT support, with a strong client-focused approach.
- Hands-on experience with Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Intune, and Endpoint management.
- Hands-on experience with backup solutions (Veeam, Datto), networking (DNS, routers, firewalls), and SD-WAN.
- Proficient in Windows Server, Group Policy, Exchange, Office 365, and virtualization technologies.
- Hands-on experience with TCP/IP, cloud platforms, IT security, and multi-server infrastructure.
- Certified in Cisco, Veeam, VMware, and Microsoft technologies will be highly regarded.
- Skilled in engaging confidently with clients and stakeholders across written, phone, and in-person communication.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills; adept at working with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to manage small projects from design to implementation.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and logical, lateral thinking.
- Demonstrated success in delivering multiple projects and mentoring junior staff.
- Strong team player with leadership qualities, time management skills, and a continuous learning mindset.
