About the role

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, your responsibility will be:

• Delivering project requirements according to agreed schedules consistent with Verbrec and client's quality standards,
• Maintaining mechanical engineering standards across all projects,
• Providing technical guidance to junior engineers and peers,
• Recommending improvements to engineering systems and processes,
• Continuously developing industry networks and contacts,
• Working with our clients to help identify efficiency opportunities and reach decarbonisation (ESG) targets,
• Having an opinion, challenging the norm, and providing constructive feedback wherever possible.

About you

You will be capable of working with a close-knit team of engineers, designers and project engineers to deliver projects to an excellent standard. As a professional engineer you will offer:

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in the design of oil, gas and energy, terminals or refining,
• Proven Australian experience in oil and gas, mining, refining, terminal, tank farm or bulk fuel distribution,
• A deep understanding of relevant design codes such as ASME B31.3, AS 4041, API 650, ASME VIII or AS 2885,
• Experienced in pipe stress analysis (AutoPIPE or Caesar II),
• Site, fabrication or construction experience is viewed positively but not essential,
• CPEng / RPEQ or equivalent, or near completion,
• You are a great team player, with the ability to work within or guide teams,
• Ability to perform engineering tasks with minimal supervision,
• A degree in Mechanical Engineering,
• Excellent communication skills,
• Excellent writing skills including report development,
• Ability to manage your time and work independently.
