Senior Engineer - Platform Engineering

What You Will Do
Senior Engineer defines the complex automation tasks and cloud architecture components for a given solution. Your role is to maximize velocity for platform and environment enablement for developers through leveraging a DevOps mindset and focus.

Specifically, You Will

• Advocate for DevOps culture, tooling, delivery methods, and cultural practices within Slalom and our clients.
• Assist with estimating work efforts and story pointing required for each phase of an agile project.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to peers, less experienced engineers, and client personnel.
• Identify, qualify, and raise technical risks and issues.
• Help grow our culture of learning by taking part in and coordinating opportunities such as presenting at technical conferences, community groups, writing blog articles, and contributing to partner-coordinated workshops

What You Will Bring

• Bring strong experience in software engineering and DevOps, particularly in production environments using AWS
• Design and implement end-to-end CI/CD pipelines
• Apply expertise in configuration management and infrastructure as code, using tools such as:
• Chef, Puppet, Ansible
• Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM
• Contribute to security-focused engineering practices, including:
• Identity and access management
• Firewall configuration
• Fundamental cloud security principles
• Collaborate across cross-functional and technical teams to deliver Agile-based projects
• Demonstrate a growth mindset and eagerness to learn new technologies quickly
• Use acquired knowledge to solve practical business problems for customers
• Communicate effectively with clients at a business level
• Translate customer needs into technical solutions to help maximize team velocity
