Relationship Manager, Mid-Level Donors

Impact you will have in this role

In this impactful donor-facing role, you will have the opportunity to build, grow and flourish relationships with a variety of mid-level committed and generous supporters.

This part-time role is ideal for someone who thrives on connection, is results-driven, and has a strong customer service mindset.

We are searching for a professional with strong customer service skills, and with proven success growing relationships and meeting set outcomes through creating communication journeys via email, phone and face to face.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Grow relationships across a portfolio of supporters, engaging them on their giving journey to help end poverty and empower communities with dignity and purpose
  • Lead on donor engagement activities across the mid-value donor base to include personalised calls, engagement events, emails and letters to nurture key donor relationships and provide opportunities to meaningfully connect with donors and build flourishing relationships
  • Cultivate and steward relationships with donors towards increased giving, with a focus on retention and upgrades to Major Gifts or Legacy Giving
  • Understand each donor and their reason for giving and tailor communications based on each donors interests, motivations and preferences
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications teams to create engaging materials and deliver a seamless donor journey
  • Identify donors ready for major giving or planned giving and coordinate handovers within the wider team
  • Secure program information to prepare compelling proposals, and report back to donors with timely and personalised updates
  • Re-engage lapsed donors through targeted strategies in collaboration with the Campaign Manager
  • Represent Opportunity at donor events, speaking engagements and networking opportunities
  • Track and report on KPIs including retention, donor growth and giving upgrades
  • Ensure all donor communications reflect Opportunity's values and impact authentically and respectfully

Skills and experience

  • A deep alignment with Opportunity's mission and Christian values
  • Proven success in fundraising/donor engagement or customer engagement in a sales related role, with a strong focus on delivering outcomes coupled with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong relationship management experience and the desire to build trusted and long-term connections with supporters on varying levels
  • Data driven with the ability to utilise data to drive growth of a revenue generating program
  • Experience in developing and managing communication plans to engage customers or donors, with a background in designing online communication strategies as well as delivering personalised engagement via phone or in person
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to listen and engage others on a high level
  • Strong efficiency, accuracy and attention to detail, particularly in relation to time management, multi-tasking, prioritising tasks
  • A team player with a high level of emotional intelligence and integrity
