ICT Initiatives team in ICT Resources and Initiatives to support a diverse range of change management, operational, and research activities. We are looking for applicants with excellent interpersonal skills, highly developed analytical skills, and a strong attention to detail. The ICT Initiatives team was established to provide an advisory and coordination service for the department's interests and involvement in national and Queensland ICT initiatives, and to oversee the department's technical activities related to NAPLAN. We work closely with teams across the department and with external organisations, including the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority and the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority.

About the Role

As the Principal Support and Engagement Officer you will:

  • Work collaboratively and flexibly within the ICT Initiatives team to support a diverse range of change management and operational activities
  • Lead the team in progressing strategic priorities, building and maintaining strong engagement with the team's many stakeholders
  • Employ strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail and well-developed communication skills to ensure quality products (documentation/resources) and outcomes.

Your Responsibilities

As the Principal Support and Engagement Officer, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide high level subject matter expertise across business processes within a dynamic and diverse organisation.
  • Prepare briefing material, submissions, papers and reports based on efficient and effective analysis of information.
  • Effectively acquire, maintain and apply knowledge of relevant government processes, and review operational documentation to support the priorities and functions of the unit.
  • Develop and refine resources and support materials to maintain their accuracy and meet the publishing standards of the Department.

Skills and experience we are looking for

Highly desirable but not mandatory skills and experience include:

  • High level MS Office skills, and willingness to learn new technical applications to support websites and other engagement activities.
  • Previous experience working in an administration role is highly desirable.
  • Ability to provide administrative support across a professional team,
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and capacity to learn quickly and respond with agility.
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
  • Initiative and self-motivation, including the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing deadlines.
