Job Advert – Principal Portfolio Officer (6-Month Contract, Government Programs & Treasury) Position Title: Principal Portfolio Officer

Employment Type: Contractor – Day Rate

Contract Length: 6 months

Location: Brisbane (flexible work arrangements available)

About the Role We are seeking a Principal Portfolio Officer on a 6-month day rate contract. This role focuses on managing government funding programs, budget submissions, and cash flow requirements within a complex project environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior finance professional who can deliver accurate financial reporting, ensure effective treasury management, and provide clear insights to senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead input, review, and submission of budgets into TriData
  • Manage financial aspects of government-funded programs
  • Oversee cash and liquidity requirements, including cash funds and external debt facilities
  • Support annual budget and forward estimates, including preparation of budget papers
  • Provide financial analysis at project and business case review forums
  • Deliver financial performance reports for executive and board stakeholders
  • Maintain consistency between project and financial ledgers
  • Produce analytical reports and financial models in a timely manner

About You

  • Demonstrated experience with TriData submissions and State Government funding programs
  • Proven track record in cash and liquidity management
  • Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Stakeholder engagement and business partnering capability at a senior level
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • CPA/CA qualification (highly regarded)
