The opportunity and your impact
As our highly valued Principal Insights officer, you will contribute to ensuring a bright future for Queensland, Australia and our global partners. You will do this with people who want you to grow and progress.
You will be responsible for developing actionable, strategic insights to inform TIQ's internal and external stakeholders about macroeconomic, geopolitical, technological, policy/regulatory and other global changes. As a trusted partner, you will provide value-added strategic advice and insights to support the delivery of TIQ's strategic priorities, while working with stakeholders to research and identify data-driven tactical opportunities for operational teams to pursue.
Based in Brisbane, here's what your role will involve:
- Undertake trade, economic, policy, statistical and other research and data analysis on specified, multiple complex issues and initiatives at the state, national, and global levels to formulate pragmatic and meaningful advice, which is delivered through briefings, reports, submissions, and presentations.
- Develop actionable, strategic insights (generated through both 'human' and Artificial Intelligence powered internal and external sources) tailored to a diverse range of audiences at all levels to deliver against TIQ's strategic priority to 'be a trusted business partner'.
- Lead the identification of complex trade data-driven tactical opportunities for operational teams to pursue, to provide support in client meetings/engagement.
- Develop high quality, impactful products to provide expert advice and conduct presentations on strategic insights to TIQ's internal and external stakeholders.
- Perform qualitative and quantitative research (utilising a wide range of sources) to identify data-driven tactical opportunities and engage with operational teams.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of work programs, standardised tools and approaches for analysis and critical thinking.

Demonstrated ability to implement quantitative and qualitative research techniques and methodologies to identify previously unknown trends, insights or opportunities based on deep research skills.
Thinks strategically and considers long terms goals and opportunities while also understanding the current environment and drivers.
Proven experience operating in fast-paced environment working to multiple priorities.
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and team members.
Possess a high level of communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills, with experience developing and delivering presentations to senior audiences (internal and external).
