Electrical Project Engineer

Cleared is always looking for the next best talent to match with our specialised Defence SME's across Australia and right now we have an exciting opportunity for a Junior to Mid-Level Electrical Project Engineer to support design, integration, testing, customer requirements and modelling of critical systems and parts for Defence application as well as other major industries within Aus.

Those with experience in FMECA, RCA, continuous improvement and test and evaluation are highly suited to this team. Those with a hands-on approach to problem solving will be key players to the team and projects.

Must be Australian Citizens with the ability to gain a Defence Security clearance.

Title: Project Engineer - Electrical Design

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Working closely with the engineering and design team, you will produce accurate and clear electrical engineering designs through liaison with designers and managers in a timely manner that meets the design specification and budgetary targets.
• Create / modify 2D CAD drawings, 3D Parametric Solid Math & Surface Models in accordance with IDES requirements, standards and quality procedures.
• Support and / or undertake Project Management activities as required, including reporting, maintaining budget targets, scheduling, supplier performance and resource management ensuring high quality outcomes.
• Review and utilise customer specified standards and relevant regulations to prepare system requirements.
• Define electrical engineering designs, with guidance from senior staff, ensuring compliance to customer and legal specifications and manufacturing requirements.
• Analysis of electrical systems, parts or components using CAE systems, classical methods and/or testing.
• Develop engineering assumptions and analysis documents for review by senior staff, and present engineering analysis to stakeholders as required.
• Support tender response preparation activities and IDES team and project activities & goals.
• Liaise with stakeholders and engineers to understand and meet technical requirements.
• Provide engineering assessment input during internal and external design reviews.
• Support and Undertake reliability analysis, DFMA's, including FMECAs and Root Cause Analysis and FRACAS (Failure Reporting And Corrective Action System)
• Prepare and conduct test and evaluation activities, under supervision of the Design Authority.
• Provide hands-on assistance to production as required, undertake quality control and inspection activities and reporting.
• Ensure Design and Engineering activities and results are communicated to all stakeholders.
• Contribute to system design Safety analysis, Maintainability analysis and QFD (trade off) analysis of technical proposals.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree within Electrical/Automation/Mechatronics or electronics fields
• 4 - 8 years hands-on electrical design experience
• A team attitude and willing to help those around you in the workplace as needed
• Willingness to grow and develop
• 2D/3D modelling and drafting for wiring diagrams and CAD experience
• Experience with quality assurance, customer and supplier management and technical reporting and data input
• MUST be an Australian Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Defence security clearance
