About the Role

We're seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our high-performing technical team. You'll be responsible for working on technical solutions and delivering high-quality electrical and automation systems that drive efficiency, safety, and reliability for our clients.

You'll report directly to the Engineering Manager, working alongside a skilled group of electricians, designers, and automation engineers. The role spans concept, design, implementation, commissioning, and long-term support, working on complex, high-demand industrial projects.

While the position is primarily site and office-based, work-from-home flexibility may be available in the future for certain project phases (e.g., design, documentation, or planning work).

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver industrial electrical and automation systems from concept through to commissioning.
• Prepare complete electrical drawing sets using AutoCAD Electrical, ensuring compliance with Australian and site standards.
• Lead complex installations, ensuring safety, compliance, and technical excellence.
• Collaborate with clients to scope, design, and implement tailored solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to electricians, apprentices, and junior engineers.
• Lead PLC/HMI development, with strong expertise in Siemens platforms (TIA Portal, Step 7), plus VSD configuration and system integration.
• Program control systems to IEC standards, ensuring consistent and reliable code across projects.
• Configure and integrate SCADA systems for industrial applications.
• Ensure all projects meet AS/NZS standards, OH&S requirements, and site-specific protocols.

What You'll Bring

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

• Electrical Engineering degree (or equivalent senior-level experience in electrical or controls engineering).
• 2+ years of industrial experience (food & beverage, manufacturing, or heavy process industries preferred).
• Strong Siemens experience in PLC programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Proficient with IEC programming standards and structured programming methodologies.
• Experience with SCADA systems configuration and integration.
• High competency in preparing full electrical design packages (schematics, layouts, documentation).
• Strong understanding of industrial automation, control systems, and multi-discipline engineering.
• Ability to manage multiple projects from design to delivery, coordinating teams and stakeholders effectively.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, confident with clients and directing technical teams.
• Full Australian working rights and a valid Driver's Licence.

Highly Regarded:

• Post-trade qualifications in electrical engineering, automation, or control systems.
• Experience with functional safety, risk assessments, and AS safety system design.
• Exposure to robotics integration or machine vision systems.
