About the Client

Our client is a prominent organisation delivering essential services to the community. Their culture is grounded, performance-driven, and safety-first.

Due to growth, an opportunity has become available to join their People, Culture and Safety team in a newly revised role as OHS Training Lead.

About the Role
As a key member of the OHS Management Team, you will play a critical role in influencing business-wide decisions and embedding health, safety and training strategies at both operational and strategic levels. You will work closely with operational and site leaders to uphold the company core values while fostering a culture of proactive risk management and continuous improvement.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing, delivering, and overseeing group training programs to enhance the knowledge and skills of employees. At times you will engage RTO's to deliver specific compliance training, but will ensure there is a coordinated approach with internal and external stakeholders involved.

You will work closely with business line leaders, local risk and compliance coordinators and other operational stakeholders to ensure the workforce have the skills and certifications to perform their roles safely.

About You

The ideal candidate will have OHS training experience across a high risk sector, including construction, manufacturing, mining, oil and gas, etc.

  • Experience across a full range of WHS activities, including exposure to regulatory requirements and legislation.

  • Highly developed decision-making capability, competence in making timely and effective decisions, with an ability to identify opportunities for improvement and commitment to drive outcomes.

  • Demonstrated success in the development of safety cultures that promote workplace health & safety while supporting the organisational deliverables.

  • Relevant qualifications in OHS and ideally a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

  • Strong understanding of Learning Management Systems (LMS)

  • Strong communicator who can work across functions and bring people on the journey.
