Airport Tourist Village Melbourne (ATVM) is a well-established, family-friendly holiday park located just minutes from Melbourne Airport.
Our property features 80 fully equipped cabins &* powered caravan sites plus 50 permanent cabins, and a range of guest facilities including BBQ areas, GYM, and recreational spaces*.
We take pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for both short-stay travellers and long-term residents. About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Facilities & Grounds Manager to oversee the maintenance, presentation, and functionality of our property.
This live-in role includes free onsite accommodation with all bills covered (electricity, water, and internet) and is ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, variety, and independence.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring all park infrastructure, buildings, and grounds are well-maintained, safe, and operating efficiently. You'll also coordinate external contractors, manage repairs, assist with projects, and provide overnight on-call support several nights per week.
As part of our close-knit team, you'll occasionally assist reception and housekeeping as necessary to ensure smooth day-to-day operations across the park.
Role Responsibilities
- Oversee all day-to-day maintenance of park infrastructure, cabins, and guest amenities
- Conduct regular inspections and implement preventative maintenance programs
- Manage gardening, landscaping, and grounds presentation to a consistently high standard
- Coordinate and supervise contractors, trades, and suppliers as required
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, asset registers, and records
- Assist the reception team with basic administrative tasks (computer literacy can be taught)
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests, staff, and residents
- Ensure compliance with OH&S and safety obligations, including risk assessments and incident reporting
- Assist the General Manager with capital works projects, upgrades, and operational improvements
- Provide overnight on-call coverage as part of the live-in role
Role Requirements
- Proven experience in maintenance, facilities management, or groundskeeping
- Strong practical or trade skills: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or mechanical experience highly regarded
- Basic computer literacy and willingness to learn property management systems
- Excellent organisational and time-management abilities
- Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of tasks
- Good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude
- Understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
- Must be available to live onsite and provide after-hours support as required
