About The Opportunity

We're seeking a Risk and Assurance Officer to lead Council's audit, risk management and insurance functions. This role plays a key part in safeguarding Council's operations and assets, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement across the organisation. You'll work closely with internal teams and external consultants to manage claims, coordinate audits, and support proactive risk strategies that benefit the Bundaberg community.

About You

You'll be a great fit for this role if you have:

• Proven experience in insurance portfolio and claim management, ideally within government or public sector.
• Strong understanding of audit and risk frameworks, with the ability to coordinate internal and external processes.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including report writing and workflow coordination.
• A Certificate or Diploma in Business Administration or related field (Bachelor's degree desirable).
• A values-led approach, with a commitment to service, integrity and community impact.
