The SSR is a statutory authority established under the Act. The SSR is committed to strengthening protections and rights of vulnerable Victorians accessing social services. The Act creates the Scheme aimed at keeping Victoria's social service users safe from harms such as abuse and neglect.
The purpose of the Scheme is to:
- support the safe delivery of social services
- establish a new set of Social Service Standards for all service providers
- ensure service providers understand their role in protecting service users' rights
- clarify roles and responsibilities of service providers
- grant the SSR monitoring and enforcement powers to address harm risks
- enhance information sharing between regulators to identify and respond to harm risks
- replace the framework previously managed by the Human Services Regulator.
THE ROLE
The Systems Analyst plays a key role in supporting the Social Services Regulator (SSR) towards data driven decision making and the delivery of robust systems, enabling our strategic direction and operational service delivery priorities.
SSR uses a risk-based intelligence led approach to protect the safety and rights of children, young people and adults experiencing vulnerability. The Systems Analyst will be responsible for improving data quality and systems processes of all our core applications.
This role is fast paced, requires strong attention to detail and forms part of the larger Business Transformation and Corporate Services branch (BTCS) and will contribute to key functions designed to:
- Design new systems or modify existing systems to meet business requirements, translating business needs into technical specifications.
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to SSR core systems
- Ensure systems are efficient, reliable, meet expectations and are secure
- Assist with drafting and formatting of ICT documentation
- Meet with project stakeholders to assess their needs and define system requirements, acceptance criteria and timelines
- Coordinate the delivery of training and information sessions for ICT projects and systems
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Provide advice and input related to data and systems issues
- Administer user access to SSR's systems and provide technical support for users as required
- Perform regular access audits to ensure appropriate off boarding of users
- Analyse and provide advice on the quality, accuracy and relevance of data
- Develop data entry guidelines to support high quality data
- Contribute to the development of work instructions that include ICT system related tasks
