The Sappho Bar' in Glebe, NSW 2037, we are seeking a friendly and experienced Manager to join our team. This role is integral to the efficient and enjoyable operation of our popular cafe and bar, serving cocktails, alcoholic beverages, hot drinks and snacks/ meals to our customers.

What you'll be doing

  • Operating within NSW guidelines with regards to serving, handling and storage of alcohol

  • Overseeing our small bar team and managing rosters

  • Liaising with our cafe manager regarding food safety and menus

  • Ordering and maintaining stock, maintaining a clean, compliant and organised bar area

  • Preparing and serving cocktails, alcoholic beverages and hot beverages,

  • Providing excellent customer service and ensuring a positive experience for all patrons

  • Liaising with performers and organisers of our live events, including live music, open stage, comedy and poetry evenings, and private functions

  • Adhering to all relevant health, safety and licensing regulations

  • Assisting with minor food preparation tasks as required

  • Collaborating with the wider team to ensure smooth daily operations

What we're looking for

  • Previous 2 years experience working as a bar manager

  • Strong knowledge of cocktail preparation techniques

  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work effectively and creatively in a team

  • Good numeracy skills and the ability to handle cash and process payments accurately

  • Flexible and reliable, with the ability to work shifts including evenings and weekends

  • Current RSA certification
