About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Full-Time Gardener to maintain and enhance the grounds across our homestead and accommodation area near Dirranbandi. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who has a genuine passion for horticulture, enjoys working outdoors, and takes pride in keeping landscapes healthy, safe, and well-presented.

You will be responsible for ongoing garden and grounds maintenance, supporting landscaping projects, and ensuring all outdoor areas remain tidy, functional, and aesthetically pleasing. You may also assist with irrigation checks, light property upkeep, and general site presentation tasks.

This role is being advertised simultaneously with a Cook/Cleaner role and could be ideal for a couple but is not limited to this arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

·       Maintain presentation and cleanliness of gardens, lawns, pathways, and outdoor areas

·       Mowing, edging, pruning, hedging, and weeding across established gardens and landscaped spaces

·       Planting, mulching, fertilising, and general plant care

·       Identifying pests, diseases, and plant health concerns, and performing treatment as required

·       Operating and maintaining tools and machinery, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, hedgers, chainsaws, or ride-on equipment

·       Assisting with landscape development projects or soft landscaping works

·       Inspecting irrigation systems, reporting faults, and supporting basic irrigation maintenance

·       Maintaining a safe, tidy, and organised work environment and following all WHS procedures

·       Coordinating with managers, contractors, or team members when required

Skills & Experience

Required:

·       Demonstrated experience in gardening, landscaping, or grounds maintenance

·       Confident in the use of common gardening tools and machinery

·       Understanding of plant care, lawn maintenance, and horticultural best practices

·       Physically fit and capable of performing manual outdoor work

·       Strong attention to detail with pride in achieving high presentation standards

·       Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a small team

·       Valid manual driver's licence

·       Good understanding of workplace safety standards

Desirable:

·       Experience with chemical handling

·       Experience in agricultural, rural, or large-property settings

·       Experience with irrigation troubleshooting

·       Police check (or willingness to obtain)

·       Willingness to undergo drug and alcohol testing if required

This position is available on either a 12-month contract or full-time permanent capacity.
